I received your kind letter of the 12th this morning. You say you are all well except John D. I am sorry to hear he his sick. He is most a year old. How I would like to see him. Your letter found me well. You say Matie remembers me yet. It seams she remembers that I had a knapsack and canteene. I guess she will alwais remember me. I wrote in one of my letters that the eleventh and twelfth corps was consaludated and called the first corps. We are the 20th corps. Each corps will be aloud to wear their old bag so we can wear the star. Generls Thomas and Hooker were here Friday. They were well pleased with this post. They pronounced it the best poleased post betweene Nashville and Chatanooga. They were well pleased with the soldiery appeirance of officers and men in our brigade. I dont think we will leave here verry soone. Still we may. I received a letter from Sophia this morning. I will answer it. I couldent think who it was from before I opened it. I see Zene Platt yesterday. He was on his way home. I told him if he went to Vestal he must go and see you. The weather is pleasent but quite coole knights. You must try and get a cow as soone as you can. It will be a great help. You say Rast has gone to making hemlock shingles. I think he could make more to work out these times. I have subscribed for the Binghamton Standerd. Charlie Kipp got twenty four. We get it for a dollar. I am going to have it sent to you. Kipp set type in the Standerd office. I thought a dollar was cheap enough. His price now is $1.75 so you see I get it for about half price. I think you will get a paper before you do this letter. If you do you wont know why they send you a paper. If you want a Nashville or Luisville paper I will have them send them to you. I hope they will pay us soone so I can send you some money. I want to see you verry much but I cant and so I will say nothing about it. Kiss the children for me. I send my love to you. Good buy.
