Dear Charlotte
I seit myself to write a few lines to you to let you know that I am well and hope you are but the last letter stated that John D was sick and I am afraid he is sick yet. I looked for a letter this morning but was disappointed. We have yet to march some. We expect to start tomorrow. We are relieved by some misconsent troops. They came here this morning from Nashville. I cant tell where we are going. Some think we will go to Bridgport and from there go down the river on boats but I guess we will go to Ringold yet and fight and march. If we go down the river we will have some hard fighting to do. We may guard the road between Chatanooga and Ringold. The troops that relieved us belong to our corps. That makes me some think that we may perhaps do guard duty somewhere on the road. Time will tell. I wish we could stay on the road this somer but we enlisted to fight and I guess we will have a chance to. You musent look for letters verry regular nor a great meney. I may have plenty of chances to write and I may not have a chance to write nor send a letter in some time. I will write every chance I have and you must do the same. I will get them sometime. The weather has been verry warm here for a few days. It will be verry hot in a month from now. I hope the baby is beter. I think I will get a letter in the morning. I hope so. I havent got time to write any more this time. Dont borrow troubel about me. I hope you are well.
Good buy.
