Well Charlotte I thought I would write a fiew more lines. You stated you went to see Rachel and found her not. I heard that she had gone to see Jacob. Why dident you ask me. I would have told you that she was gone. I wish you could have come with her and seene me. We have got the best tent now we ever had. We dug down about a foot and the built it with legs. It is 12 feet long and 7 wide. We have got a fireplace. I built the chimeny. We put our tent cloths on for a roof and built two bunks one over the other wide enough for three to sleep in. There is six of us tents together. If you had come I would made them all left the hovel and we would had it to our selves. You sead you went to Mr. Bartons. I am glad you went. I want you to take all the comferd you can. I hope one of these days the war will play out and then I can come where you are. It seams as though it cant go so mouch longer. I will send you a letter that Capt Shipman wrote. It will tell you a little about our march from Bolivar. Perhaps you have seene it. It was in the Broome Republican. I dont know as I have mouch more to write this time. Give my love to your folks and to my folks and my love to you. So good buy Charlotte.
