Dear Wife

I am verry lonesome this evening so I will pass away a little time in writing a fiew lines to you. I answered the last letter but it dont make eney diference. I will write a short one and send the old likeness. The weather is warm. I got the dore open and my coat off and no fire and it is plenty warm enough in the midel of the day when the sun shines. We are glad to get in the shade. I never see a warmer day in May north than it has ben here to day. The ground is dry. It beets all Januarys I ever see. I get verry lonesome these pleasent days. How I wish I could visit with you part of the time. I look at your likeness 50 times a day or less but it haint you after all but I am verry proud of my picture. I got the almanac the other day. I am anxous to hear from the money I sent. I hope I will hear about it in the next. I dident think to set down the number of the check so if it is lost I am afraid I cant get another. I havent roome to write eney more on this. I guess I will send this. I shal look for a letter in a day or two and them I will write again. No more. Good knight dear Charlotte. My love to you.
